While we pride ourselves on the excellent work we perform and our customer-first approach, our culture is something we are also extremely proud of. It’s what sets us apart.
Our goal is to foster an environment of equity, equality and inclusion. We do our best to ensure that our team members not only feel comfortable coming to work each day, but enjoy being here as a part of the VEC family. Our culture initiatives for each year are based on internal research. These initiatives come to fruition through team building activities, themed events, lunch and learns and professional training opportunities.
Our Culture Club is a group of team members who meet often to discuss topics, provide solution-based feedback to our leadership team and plan events throughout the year. This group is dedicated to enhancing the work environment for themselves and their fellow team members.
Built to Last Recognition Program
The Built to Last Awards celebrate employees whose work strengthens our company’s reputation, culture and performance. These awards are not based on popularity, they are earned through impact, craftsmanship, leadership and living our values.
We recently recognized our first quarter nominees in each category and presented the four winners with a custom challenge coin.
Dedicated to Our Community
Community is our third core value and we’re proud to support initiatives in the Mahoning Valley and in the communities where we perform work. The VEC Community Fund is supported by The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley. The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley was established in 1999 by five area trust companies and community partners. This 501(c)(3) public charity addresses philanthropic needs across Trumbull and Mahoning counties. CFMV has helped families, nonprofit organizations, and businesses create charitable funds, resulting in more than $48 million awarded since the Foundation’s inception.
VEC team members have the option to contribute to the VEC Community fund monthly. These funds are managed by CFMV and are available to use across the Mahoning Valley. Whether donating to a local cause, providing toys for a local charity, or matching donations raised internally, the VEC Community Foundation actively supports specific needs in our community.
